Washington, D.C. (March 1, 2006)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) announced that Denyette DePierro has joined the association's government relations team in its Washington office as Legislative Counsel to carry the message in the nation's capital about the vital work of the nation's community banks.
DePierro's primary responsibilities are to further develop and strengthen the association's relationship with Congress on behalf of the nation's independent community banks. "We are delighted to have Denyette join our government relations team," said Karen Thomas, ICBA executive vice president for government relations. "Her experience working with the California and Nevada state legislatures on a wide variety of community banking issues will serve our nation's community banks well."
DePierro, a native Californian, previously was a lobbyist for the California Independent Bankers, an ICBA affiliate. She was responsible for state legislative and regulatory issues on behalf of community bankers. DePierro has a Doctorate of Juris Prudence from Pepperdine School of Law.
