ICBA Kicks Off 2012 ICBA National Convention and Techworld® in Nashville, Draws Near-Record Attendance
Nashville, Tenn. (March 12, 2012)—Yesterday more than 3,000 community bankers and industry leaders gathered for the opening of the 2012 Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) National Convention and Techworld at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville. Attendance for the 2012 ICBA National Convention and Techworld is up 16 percent from 2011 and close to an all-time record high. Techworld booths are also up over last year and near record highs, demonstrating that vendors are eager to do business with community banks from across the country.

The convention, which runs through Wednesday, March 14, is the largest gathering of community bankers in the world and features an all-star lineup of speakers, more than 60 educational workshops and numerous networking opportunities. Highlights of the convention include remarks from national newsmakers, including Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Acting Chairman Martin Gruenberg, Acting Comptroller of the Currency John Walsh and Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Richard Cordray. Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke will provide remarks to attendees via video.
Other featured speakers include political columnist George Will and Ken Schmidt, brand visionary and strategist for Harley-Davidson.
