ICBA and Agility Recovery Extend Preferred Service Provider Relationship
Washington, D.C. (June 19, 2013)—The Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) today announced that it has extended its agreement with Agility Recovery as an ICBA Preferred Service Provider, ensuring that community banks will continue to enjoy exclusive discounts on disaster preparedness services.
"ICBA is pleased to continue its relationship with Agility Recovery, which enables community banks to continue serving their customers regardless of operational challenges that may even include catastrophic disasters affecting the entire community,” said Dan Clancy, ICBA executive vice president of services. "This valuable program has already helped many of ICBA's member banks to continue serving their communities while facing problems ranging from minor flooding to major tornadoes.”
ICBA member Worthington Federal Bank signed up for Agility's services in 2010. When tornadoes ravaged their town, Worthington Federal leaned on Agility to help get their branch operational after the storm.
"To be able to make a call at 6:30 p.m. and have a generator headed our way just a couple of hours after the tornadoes rolled through was amazing," said Scott Jenkins, senior vice president and CIO, Worthington Federal Bank. "The Agility team worked with us around the clock to get us going and to keep us going."
Agility Recovery has been an ICBA Preferred Service Provider since 2009. "Over the past few years, Agility has seen explosive growth within the banking and financial industry," said Taylor Busby, Agility Recovery vice president of marketing. "Our relationship with ICBA and its members has been a catalyst for that growth. Disaster preparedness is a serious issue. I'm pleased to see so many banks leading the way, even in the most devastating circumstances."
In the event of a disaster, Agility will provide disaster recovery services that include internet and phone connectivity, power generation, technology such as computers and servers, and office space, including a mobile bank branch. Over the past 24 years, Agility has recovered thousands of community banks and businesses.
Agility also offers my Agility, an online disaster planning tool that helps banks remain federally compliant with rules and regulations governing disaster preparation and testing.
