Washington, D.C. (April 22, 2011)-The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) announced today that James Kendrick has joined ICBA as vice president, accounting and capital policy.  As part of ICBA's government relations team, Kendrick will focus his efforts on existing and emerging financial accounting policies and regulatory capital concerns that are paramount to community banks.

"ICBA is pleased to have James on board as a member of our team," said Karen Thomas, ICBA senior executive vice president of government relations and public policy.  "James' in-depth experience and knowledge of accounting issues will serve our members well as we work to ease regulatory burdens for community banks across the nation.  James will be a key player in this effort."

Prior to joining ICBA, Kendrick served as senior manager, accounting policy for Fannie Mae in Washington and as an accounting policy manager for the Federal Home Loan Bank in Boston.  Additionally, he served as assistant vice president and assistant controller for Redwood Trust Inc.  He holds a bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Southern California.
