Texas Community Banker Named Chairman of ICBA Services Network

Nebraska and Washington Community Bankers Elected to Board

Washington, D.C. (November 22, 2010)-The ICBA Services Network, the business services subsidiary of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), has named ICBA past chairman Cynthia L. Blankenship chairman of its board of directors. Blankenship is vice chairman and chief operating officer of Bank of the West in Grapevine, Texas. 

"ICBA Services Network is pleased to name Cindy as our new chairman of the board," said Gary Teagno, president and CEO of ICBA Services Network.  "Cindy's overwhelming dedication to ICBA and community banks across the nation has been demonstrated time and time again as she continues to serve in various leadership capacities-always advocating for fellow community bankers and the communities they serve.  We look forward to working with Cindy to make the ICBA Services Network even more robust and helpful for America's nearly 8,000 Main Street community banks." 

In addition to serving as ICBA's 2008-2009 chairman, Blankenship has served as chairman of ICBA's Bank Education, Congressional Affairs, Membership/Marketing and Policy Development committees. She was also chairman of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas and chairman of its Education Foundation.  Blankenship was also a director with the Community Bankers Association of Oklahoma. She has testified before Congress on behalf of community banks multiple times. 

ICBA Services Network has also named Jeff Gerhart, ICBA vice chairman and chairman of Bank of Newman Grove, Newman Grove, Neb., and Greg Deckard, president, CEO and chairman of State Bank Northwest, Spokane, Wash., to its board of directors.
