ICBA Statement on OCC Naming Ward as Deputy Comptroller

ICBA looks forward to working with Ward on important thrift supervision issues

Washington, D.C. (November 4, 2010)—Camden R. Fine, president and CEO of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), issued this statement today following the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) announcement to name Timothy Ward as Deputy Comptroller for Thrift Supervision.

“ICBA congratulates Timothy Ward on his designation as Deputy Comptroller for Thrift Supervision and thanks the OCC for its continued efforts to ensure that thrift institutions are well represented after the OCC and Office of Thrift Supervision merge. Mr. Ward is a seasoned professional who understands thrifts and the critical role they serve in their communities and the nation’s economic recovery. ICBA looks forward to working with Mr. Ward on issues of concern to thrift and mutual institutions, including those related to the implementation of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.”
