FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ICBA Partners with Western Independent Bankers

Washington, D.C. (April 15, 2009)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), the nation’s voice for our country’s more than 8,000 community banks, today announced that it has partnered with Western Independent Bankers (WIB), a regional banking association serving banks in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and the U.S. Territories.

“ICBA is pleased to partner with Western Independent Bankers to offer community banks in the West additional education and leadership opportunities and an additional partner in highlighting the value of community banks,” said Camden R. Fine, ICBA president and CEO. “For our Western regional members, WIB will be a tremendous resource because it brings together bankers with industry experts, products and services that strengthen community banks’ competitive edge.”

WIB has a taken a leadership role for more than 70 years in providing community banks throughout the West with education and leadership opportunities. This year, WIB will offer more than 70 educational programs to assist community bankers and directors.

“WIB is thrilled to have the opportunity to offer ICBA’s Western bank members an additional source of premier education that will undoubtedly enhance the way they do business,” said Nancy Sheppard, WIB president and CEO. “We also look forward to having a more robust relationship with ICBA because their continuous efforts on Capitol Hill and with regulatory agencies and the media ultimately benefit WIB members. Together, we can surely provide tremendous benefit to the community banking industry.”
