ICBA Announces Management Promotions

Staff Advancements Enhance Association's Effectiveness

Washington, D.C. (Dec. 1, 2008)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) has announced the promotion of several management staff, including ICBA Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Tricia Hopkins being promoted to executive vice president/CFO.

"ICBA congratulates these individuals for their accomplishments and dedication to the nation’s community banks,” said Camden R. Fine, ICBA president and CEO, “The experience and talent of ICBA’s staff is unmatched. Each person plays an integral role in helping ICBA be extraordinarily responsive in serving the needs of the nation’s community banks in today’s rapidly changing financial services industry. These promotions will further strengthen ICBA and build upon our effectiveness in representing the many interests of our member institutions."

From the government relations department:
Paul Merski, chief economist/director of tax policy was promoted to senior vice president, chief economist.
Viveca Ware, director of payments & technology policy was promoted to senior vice president, payments & technology policy.
Chris Cole, senior regulatory counsel was promoted to vice president, senior regulatory counsel.
Ann Grochala, director of lending & accounting policy was promoted to vice president, lending & accounting policy.
Mark Scanlan, director of agricultural & rural policy was promoted to vice president, agricultural & rural policy.
Jason Kratovil, director of congressional policy issues was promoted to vice president, congressional policy issues.
Renee Rappaport, director of congressional affairs was promoted to vice president, congressional affairs.
Abigail Bresett, director of ICBPAC was promoted to vice president, political programs.
Ike Jones, senior legislative counsel was promoted to vice president, senior legislative counsel.
Cary Whaley, associate director of payments & technology policy was promoted to director of payments & technology policy.

From the communications and marketing department:
Tim Cook
, director of publications was promoted to vice president, publications.

From the conventions department:
Jan Meyer, director of conferences was promoted to vice president, conferences.

From the education department:
Marlee Melville, associate director of education/products was promoted to director, education/products.
Runay Olson, associate director of education/seminars was promoted to director, education/seminars.

From the national sales department:
David Hibbs, Midwest regional director was promoted to vice president, Midwest regional office.
Chip Lynch, Southwest regional director was promoted to vice president, Southwest regional office.
John McNair, Mid-Atlantic regional director was promoted to vice president, Mid-Atlantic regional office.
Michael Marx, Great Lakes regional director was promoted to vice president, Great Lakes regional office.
David Moore, Southeast regional director was promoted to vice president, Southeast regional office.
John Pettazzoni, Northeast regional director was promoted to vice president, Northeast regional office.

From the information technology department:
John Steffes, chief technology officer was promoted to vice president, chief technology officer.
Jamie Hooper, associate director of IT development was promoted to director, IT development.
George Jenkins, associate director of information systems was promoted to director, information systems.
