ICBA Holds Community Bank BSA/AML Institute

Coursework Sets Path to Professional BSA/AML Certification

Washington, D.C. (May 14, 2008)—The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) kicks off its Community Bank, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Institute on Monday, May 19 - 21 in Bloomington, Minn. The three-day course gives community bankers from around the country a comprehensive program to further their education toward a Certified BSA/AML Professional (CBAP).

"ICBA is proud of our certification programs for community bankers. Certification raises professionalism and helps community bankers focus on understanding and carrying out BSA and AML requirements," said Greg Martinson, ICBA senior vice president and director of Sauk Centre Operations, ICBA's Minnesota office. "All attendees have the opportunity to receive a CBAP."

ICBA has partnered with Bequeaith Banking Solutions, LLC in Overland Park, Kan., to provide a broad-based, comprehensive strategic BSA program for community banks.

ICBA is the only national trade association that tailors its educational programs exclusively to meet the needs of community bankers and to raise the standards of professionalism in the industry. More than 2,000 community banking professionals have achieved ICBA certification in compliance, auditing, IT, lending, Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering and bank security.

The program will be repeated in San Antonio, Tex., Nov. 10-12. Learn more about ICBA educational offerings, conferences and certification programs by visiting www.icba.org.
