Washington, D.C. (Nov. 9, 2004) - Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), the nation's largest banking trade association, achieved a record milestone in corporate relationships recently by adding its 250th Corporate Associate Member.
The 250th Corporate Associate Member, BancIntelligence.com, is an online advisory solution for financial institutions, which help organizations maximize franchise value by enhancing their ability to make strategic decisions. "Our associate members have demonstrated their commitment to the community banking industry by their support of ICBA and its members throughout the years," said Julie Feuling, ICBA director of specialty groups. "BancIntelligence.com is a welcome addition to the family."
ICBA evaluates and approves Corporate Associate Members on a case-by-case basis. One of the criteria is the company's commitment to the community bank industry. Often, Corporate Associate Member products are designed exclusively for community banks. The membership program, structured into three levels of commitment-Gold, Silver and Bronze-provides ICBA member banks with unique product and service solutions.
In 1990, ICBA recognized the tremendous potential of corporations dedicated to serving the community banking industry through ICBA membership and placed a new emphasis on them. Since then, ICBA has expanded the benefits of Corporate Associate Membership, stimulating steady growth in the program leading to today's record number.
"With each additional associate member, we increase the range of products and services our member banks are exposed to, as well as increasing support for the community banking industry across the nation," added Feuling. "Membership is an effective, unique way for companies to support community banks."
Many community bankers report that ICBA Corporate Associate membership plays a role in the choice of companies with which they do business. Corporate Associate Members are listed in an annual directory distributed to ICBA members. The directory is also posted on ICBA's website at www.icba.org.
