ICBA Securities Conference Draws Record Attendance

Washington, D.C. (Aug. 22, 2007)—ICBA Securities Inc., the member-directed securities broker/dealer of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA), today announced that total attendance at its 2007 Capital Markets Conference, hosted by Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett, Chicago, Ill., exceeded all previous years, with over 430 registered attendees from more than 200 different firms.

The annual conference is organized so publicly traded community banks can present to and meet with individual and institutional investors. The number of presenting institutions nearly doubled compared with last year, climbing to 37 from 20.

"We are very pleased with the tremendous turnout," said Jim Reber, ICBA Securities president and CEO. "Even in today's difficult financial environment, the conference's overwhelmingly positive reception underscores the great investment opportunity that exists in community banks today."

"Events like the Capital Markets Conference are invaluable for publicly traded community banks," said Rusty Cloutier, president and CEO of MidSouth Bank, Lafayette, La. "Despite the choppy market, many community banks have solid growth plans in place, and forums like this give them the opportunity to show interested investors what they're all about."

Since 1989, ICBA Securities has offered broker/dealer services with an inventory of portfolio investment products including Treasury bonds and agencies, fixed-rate mortgage-backed securities, adjustable-rate mortgage-backed securities, collateralized mortgage obligations, corporate bonds, municipal bonds, Small Business Administration loans and loan pools, and other securities suitable for community bank investments. ICBA Securities' Capital Markets division offers a broad range of capital markets services through its partnership with Howe Barnes Hoefer & Arnett, Inc., including investment banking consultation and market making for hundreds of banks and savings institutions. ICBA Securities actively serves over 1,000 community banks, making it one of the largest broker/dealers for community banks in the nation.
