ICBA and Chartwell Compliance Extend Relationship to Offer ICBA Compliance and Risk Management

Honolulu, HI (Mar. 3, 2014)—The Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA) today announced that it has extended its agreement with Chartwell Compliance to continue offering ICBA Compliance and Risk Management to community banks. As community banks face increasing compliance and regulatory challenges, this strategic alliance can help banks manage their risks through testing, auditing, enforcement action and on-demand consulting services.

“ICBA is pleased to continue its relationship with Chartwell Compliance to bring premier ICBA Compliance and Risk Management offerings to community banks,” said Dan Clancy, ICBA executive vice president of services. “Chartwell’s wide variety of services are able to meet the simplest to most complex compliance needs of community banks across the country.”

Chartwell Compliance supplies regulatory compliance consulting, outsourcing and testing services through a team of seasoned consultants with an average of more than 25 years experience in the financial industry as bankers, regulators and law enforcement officials, providing a sound platform to provide practical information and solutions about compliance issues.

“Chartwell’s consultants will work with community bank staff to ensure they receive attentive customer service while getting the most out of Chartwell’s services, which will help them do business more quickly and efficiently,” said Daniel Weiss, CEO of Chartwell Compliance. “Chartwell Compliance consultants have experience in regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering and leadership.”

“Community bankers like me can rest assured that when working with Chartwell Compliance they are working with consultants who understand their business needs,” said Marsha Chaffin, vice president and chief operating officer of First National Bank, Cortez, Colo. “Chartwell Compliance has helped our bank analyze, plan and execute the best possible strategy for navigating the compliance and regulatory environment we face. The services are truly top notch, and I would recommend Chartwell to any community banks that are looking for outside help on these critical business issues.”

In addition to providing regulatory expertise in areas such as loan and mortgage compliance, deposit compliance, the Community Reinvestment Act, the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and other areas of risk management and financial crimes, community bankers can enlist the guidance of Chartwell’s expertise through the ICBA Compliance HelpDesk. This service provides member bank subscribers a Web-based portal for immediate, as-needed access to compliance specialists. Additionally, subscribers receive assistance with regulatory examinations, the development of bank compliance policies and procedures, and disclosure reviews. Chartwell is also available to conduct on-site and off-site independent testing, serve as a remote outsourced compliance administrator, provide non-legal regulatory opinions and assist with enforcement-related issues.
