ICBA and Foreword Financial Sponsor Bank Card Conference
September Event Geared to Community Bank Executives

Washington, D.C. (August 5, 2005) - All the latest developments in bank cards, from new technology to consumer surveys to recent court decisions, will be covered for community bank managers during a Sept. 18-20 conference sponsored by the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and Foreword Financial.

The Bank Card Conference in Memphis, Tenn., features both practical and strategic instruction geared to busy managers working in a community bank environment. The conference will feature presentations such as achieving greater bottom-line profitability; responding to consumer research; understanding the latest back-office innovations; meeting long-term competitive challenges; and tapping new opportunities in commercial cards, stored-value cards and merchant acquisition.

"This is a must-attend educational event for any community banker who wants to have the best knowledge available on bank card management," said Greg Martinson, ICBA director of education.

The Bank Card Conference, including an accompanying trade show, will take place at the historic Peabody Memphis Hotel in downtown Memphis. The conference kicks off several joint educational efforts in 2005 and 2006 between ICBA and and Foreword Financial, a Pompano Beach, Fla., provider of financial-services education forums.
