WR Seminar: Risk Management

This course will review with some and introduce to others the need for principles-based guidance to help entities operate with more efficiency an enterprise-wide approaches to risk management, outlined by COSO issued Enterprise Risk Management Integrated Framework.

Risk Strategy and Management teams are continually evaluating financial risk strategies and operational risk management capabilities to update and simplify their compliance programs and strengthen the quality of information for decision-making. Operational risks must also be managed in an efficient and increasingly integrated manner to adhere to growing regulatory demands.

This course will identify the various roles and responsibilities which encompass a Risk Management structure including:

  • Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERM): Identifying the risks that align with the execution of company strategy
  • Financial Investigations: Protect enterprise value by reviewing and analyzing financial information
  • Fraud Risk: Infrastructure for evaluating, mitigating and monitoring their risk of fraud and misconduct
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA): Evaluates conformance with The International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) and identify opportunities to improve internal audit performance and services

*Note: Each participant needs to bring a laptop or tablet with internet access to class as a tool for hands on participation.
