Senior Vice President, Legislative Counsel
Brian Cooney is senior vice president and legislative counsel for the Independent Community Bankers of America®.
Cooney has 30 years of experience in representing business interests before the U.S. Congress including homebuilders, CPAs, mortgage banks and community banks. He focuses upon educating Members of Congress regarding the impact their legislative decision-making has on their communities, their constituents and the local economy.
Cooney graduated from Villanova University with a degree in finance. He holds a law degree from George Mason University and a master’s degree in Securities Law from Georgetown University Law School.
