Recorded: July 8, 2014
Fixed-income investors, including community banks, have a lot of issues to deal with as the second half of 2014 begins. For one, the U. S. economy is showing some signs of strength, and inflation may finally be increasing. For another, the makeup of the FOMC has changed dramatically, and its bias may be different. For yet another, loan demand may be increasing for the first time in over five years. We will review recent comments and actions by the Fed, will examine the bond market's reaction to them, and will make some recommendations for sound portfolio management for the rest of 2014.
